Ray, How did you find your job at Jobster?

I worked with Phil, one of the founders here at Jobster, at Openwave and Avogadro. He told me about Jobster and that was the start of a handful of conversations with various people involved. Ultimately, Scott, Patrick and I decided to come and found the engineering team here.

The best lunches are when we get a big group together and invade Pho Bac for some yummy vietnamese food. That usually happens about once a week. The other days are mostly Thai food from Mae Phem, the ocasional Tats, and a sampling of random places on 1st Ave.

Ray, What's unique about working at Jobster?

The product group here at Jobster has incredible freedom to innovate and drive the direction of the company.

This application you are looking at right now was conceived by three develpers (ryan, laurel and myself) over coffee. We kicked it around the office, decided we wanted to use Ruby on Rails, and one month later it's live on jobster.com.

This saucy little application you are looking at right now. Laurel, Ryan, Joe, Jess and I whipped this bad boy up using Ruby on Rails and a desire for 'job centered' application that we would use. Help us make it better!

The most valuable thing an under graduate can do when looking for their first job, is to find a small team of extremely smart engineers. What you learn in that first year will play a role in every job you get after.
