I was on the wrestling team, and majored in Business Administration, eventually receiving my Bachelor of Science degree. I was also known to drink heavily, and then do imitations of famous celebrities like John Wayne, Richard Nixon, and Elvis. If you're looking to liven up the party, hire me now!

Kurt, How would you describe what you did at On Call Staffing?

I worked as a fill-in doctor for doctors who get sick, hurt, or take a vacation, and had to be away from their businesses. I kept the patients coming in, and the money flowing until they returned.
I also tried to start a staffing service, but total demand was only lukewarm. I finally figured out that chiropractic is not a good candidate for high volume temp work.

Kurt, What's your dream job?

Dream job would have to be "College Professor", because of the intellectual stimulation, the experience of working in the fantasy-world of a college campus atmosphere, the chance to interact with fairly intelligent people all the time, and the chance to meet a new wave of young college coeds every semester! What else could a red-blooded American male ask for?

Any city? How about the South of France, near the beach? How does that grab ya?

Whatever you do, stay out of America. It's economically dead. They killed the Golden Goose.

Kurt, What advice do you have for someone looking for their first job out of college?

Don't ask me. I never did find a job after college!

If I had it to do over again, I would be sure to attain at least a "B" average, major in something actually interesting, like Art History, or Landscape Architecture, and then network like crazy with other students from rich families, so I had someone to call and somewhere to go after graduation, instead of the unemployment line.

One thing they don't teach you in school, it's who you know that gets you in the door to a good career, not what you know. Nobody gives a crap what you know.

Good luck though. I'm sure the market is better than it was in '83.

Probably the best interview I ever had was for a job in sales at a country radio station. I didn't get the job, but we ended up going to a country bar, where I rode the mechanical bull and won a prize.
