Technology and what it can do to help us make life easier, more convenient, and more manageable. I specifically enjoy technology that can help us saveguard our environment.... whether it comes to servers that are more cpu efficient (Sun T1000) to electric cars like those coming out from Tesla Motors.

Damian, What advice do you have for someone who wants a job like yours?

Curiousity and Persistence. You have to be curious, in that you have to want it if you are going to be any good. And you have to be persistent because its not easy, by a long shot. And I'd say, continue to look at least 2-5 years into the future, technology wise. As you learn more, that time frame will become more clear and more exciting as a result.

I don't do much of having mentors but instead really try to learn something from everyone I meet and eventually work with. I don't do this conciously too. It just comes automatic and I feel that I grow and learn as a result. So you can say, everyone is my mentor ;)
