Surprisingly, it was a phone interview. I hate telephones more than anything because they are so impersonal. But, my phone interview to become the athletic media assistant at Saint Francis University was great. The interviewer and I hit it off immediately and ended up talking for almost an hour about things that weren't even pertinent to the actual job experience. We are good friends now.

Being able to view your progress and make people happy while doing it. One of my assignments at Saint Francis University is to write a weekly feature for the local newspaper (Altoona Mirror) on either an athlete or coach who has something interesting or unique to offer. After each of these participants has seen the stories I've written, I notice them hanging up in their office or their bulletim board. It's a great feeling to have your work appreciated.

Someone who always wants to keep making himself better, sometimes to an extreme. Always looking how to do things better, faster. Also, an employee who will go to any length to get the job done. No matter how much it may suck.

My parents, of course. A couple professors I had at the University of Michigan, namely Dr. C. Keith Harrison and Dr. Bruce Watkins were also my role models. Because of them, I strive to teach at a level of higher learning someday.

Sports. I love evey single aspect of them. Especially the sociology of sports and how influential it is in today's American society. I don't think people fully appreciate how central of a role professional athletes play in our world today.

My most influential mentor was Fr. Menner, my freshman year algebra teacher. I've never met anyone more intimidating in my life. But he truly cared about each and every student and wanted them to succeed. He taught me that the only way to succeed in life is to be prepared at ALL times and work to the your potential maximum every second of every day.

Good question. Fly to Colorado to try and get tickets to Games 3 and 4 to the World Series to cheer on my Red Sox. Then I would invest half of it. And definitely give 5-10 million of it to a worthy cause when it's all said and done.

It had to be at the Illinois Junior Golf Association. I was randomly thrown into an apartment with three great guys and worked with another random 10 or 12 people just outside of Chicago. I was in charge of disseminating all the information about or work by updating our website (www.ijga.org). I learned so much in just three months and met some lifetime friends, as well.

One in which everyone works together and knows how to have fun - but ultimately go above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to work. When everyone is successful in the workplace, together, it makes work not even feel like work.
