Door to door sales. I was 11 and worked for a siding and roofing company knocking on doors and handing out business cards. It was great until someone pulled a knife on me and my partner. That led to my abrupt exit from that particular position.

My parents. They both worked extremely hard to provide for our family. They pushed us to achieve, but still loved us when we screwed up or fell short. They instilled in me the value of family, the importance of hard work, and an unfaltering sense of self esteem. They taught me to believe in myself but to remain humble. They made an enormous impact on my life.

David, What was your best interview experience like?

When I interviewed for my current position, the process started with a phone interview with a professional search firm. When they called, I was happily employed, and not aggressively pursuing employment. The call was unexpected. I did no prep work, and I totally nailed it. I was just relaxed, open, and honest, and I think that came across well - I got the job 2 weeks later.

Door to door sales. When I was in 7th grade I was recruited to go door to door selling roofing, and siding. My boss told me that if anyone gave me a hard time, take down their address and he would egg them. This job ended when someone pulled a knife on me for ringing their doorbell.

Public Radio Personality. I love NPR, and I think it would be a fun job. Certainly I would not be qualified enough to be a hard news reporter, but I would enjoy doing human interest pieces or other things in that realm.

College to Cintas to Ohio Financial Group, they closed down so then quickly to Relizon, they were aquired so quickly to Reynolds & Reynolds. I stayed there for a while, but needed to get out of the cube (plus they got acquired, and I had done that already). So, I found a job as an Account Executive with Hafenbrack Marketing. I love it. I wake up every day completely energized about my job. Sure, there are challenges, but these obstacles are ones that I enjoy overcoming. I love what I do, which is help people improve their businesses and organizations.
