The woodworking industry is caught between old technology and new technology. It is tough to implement something that would obviously help when people don't want to change or use something that is different than what they are used to.

I was introduced as the person responsible for all things digital. I customized software, set up the network, and created databases. I also created a project plan to create a paperless shop floor using bar-coding and touch-screen interfaces.

The Solution Delivery Team was probably the most helpful in regards to the project. I was lucky enough to have a SD Manager that had previous Microsoft and vendor experience. Both helped out immensely when issues on this project came up.

Casual and fun, I like to work in comfortable cloths (albeit that may be slacks and a button down some days). I don't really care about offices or cubes. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. What's more important to me is the way the team interacts. I would like to work in an environment that promoted team collaboration. When you have teams that work in multiple buildings getting team cohesiveness is next to impossible.

I belive you have to support your local team so I feel obligated to go with Seattle. Seattle is always dominating their divison but the AFC East is so powerful I don't think they can win. New England would have to be my choice right now.

A job where I can balance my problem solving skills with the desire to help build the solution. I do not consider myself skilled enough to be called a software developer but I have the desire to learn. Most of the learning I focus on is determined by my situation. If I need to learn C# because it provides an easy interface between the Web and Excel, I will. Programs are easy for me to learn. I picked up Ruby on Rails in 4 weeks, C# in 6, its the methodology behind the programming that takes longer to learn (This is why I don't consider myself skilled enough to be a software developer. I know the language and I can make a program work but a skilled developer will make the same project work with less coding just becuse they have a better understanding of the methodology used for the particular language).
