Sameer, How would your co-workers describe you?

My team knows me as a FFF - Firm, Fair and Friendly. I am seen as a strict and disciplined person. They know if I am upset with them - there's a good reason. I don't lose my temper unless necessary and they know this. I share an excellent rapport with my team and they hardly see me as a 'person to fear'.

Sameer, What advice do you have for someone looking for their first job out of college?

I am sure you have a lot of advice floating around. But if you have to read this here - then just remember, the employer needs you as much as you need the employer. This wonderful harmony strikes a chord when you enter the interviewer's cabin. So maintain your posture, remain calm and dont over commit on your skill sets and abilities.

Sameer, What was the last really difficult interview question you were asked? How did you respond?

This is right when I was just beginning my career. In an interview, I wasn't asked - I was told even before I could take a seat ' You are not good for this job Sameer - don't waste my time, take your resume and leave'. (The interviewer had a copy of my resume in front of him)
I stood there for a sec, and looked at him and said 'If you have decided whether I am suitable for this job or not even before talking to me, then i assure you sir, I AM indeed wasting your time now. And I am confident You will return the favor should I join your organization. Have a good day.' I stepped out and the Interviewer followed me. He was the VP of HR at the company and asked me to follow him to his cabin. I not only got the job, I was greatly admired for my ability to be straight yet polite with people.

Mumbai - India. I think the city is extremely energetic and comes close to NY with a sense of freedom and excitement 24 hours a day. The population is too high, the weather is terrible and there are 100 more problems in the city. But when you come here - its like wondering why you never came here earlier.
