I grew up in DC and would have a hard time moving anywhere else. All my closest friends live here in Washington and for that reason alone I don't expect I'll move away any time soon.

My first job was working as a telemarketer (don't hate me) for my father's insurance company in the 80's. I worked from 8 - 11pm, Eastern time, week nights so I could reach California home owners between the hours of 5 - 8pm their time. I've never had more people hang up on me more often than I did when I was doing this job. As it turns out, people are far more likely to listen to a recruiter with a great job opportunity then a teenager selling homeowners insurance after a long day at the office. ;-)...

I'd like to be a software/web developer one day myself. Having hired so many developers for so many interested projects over the years I've often wished I could be the one to create something from scratch. I've really enjoyed building up the DCrecruiters.com web site and wish I had the time and technical knowhow to take it to the next level and beyond....
