What makes you a great employee?
I love what I do, and it's both my career and my hobby. When the work day is done, my ongoing reading and research about the internet, web design, web development and an endless list of associated interests goes home with me, and I keep working on it there. My corporate work makes use of the the best-practices I learn and develop on my own projects, and I make sure I know how and why those solutions work for the web....

What was one of the biggest lessons you ever learned from being laid off?
You have to keep up-to-date and aware of the job market, your peers and their payscales, and your positioning and credability in your industry even during a good job. The benefits of having your network and strategy ready to go the moment you leave a job are immense. Do the due diligence of passively job hunting and prepping at all times, no matter how loyal you are to your current job. It keeps you actively managing your career, and ready for any unfortunate or fortunate twists of fate....

What's your New Year's resolution?
I resolve to refrain from watching any countdown shows (3rd year in a row!) and continue improving my regex and back-end programming skill set. Also, I will wrap my noggin around search analytics and 'what they can do for [me]'.
