If you could choose, what city would you most like to live/work in? Why?

If I didn't have family commitments and could make enough money, I'd like Los Angeles, mainly because of the arts and cultural opportunities.

What was your major and how applicable is it to your position at Duke University?

My major was Public and Applied History, which looks at teaching history in non-traditional settings, such as museums. It's a good background for someone interested in applying teaching to technology.

I took the position for professional growth reasons and for better opportunities for advancement.

What's the funniest thing that ever happened to you at Duke University?

Seeing one of my co-workers, who was in charge of recruiting student assistants, dressed up in a chicken suit at an event to recruit students to work for our group.

What kind of job are you looking for?

Interested in employment in the private sector in project management or as a manager of training and development. I've been in academia for the past decade and feel that the private sector would provide more opportunities for my professional growth and development.

What was your best business trip experience?

Some of the most refreshing and interesting encounters I've had with colleagues in my field has been at the Instructional Technology Conference, held annually at Middle Tennessee State University. When Duke first proposed the iPod project, me and a colleague from my group got to go to Apple's headquarters in Cupertino to present the proposal to the Apple Digital Campus group.... read more

I'm a firm beliver in the power of honesty. If something isn't working, I'll talk with you about it and look for ways to make it come together and work better. Change can open new opportunities if you prepare yourself to be flexible.
