What advice do you have for someone looking for their first job out of college?

Look for a smaller company. Even if you're not making as much you will be able to learn how to think creatively. For example: smaller companies may not have as much capital to spend on the latest and greatest technology so you need to learn to explore other options.

What was the last really difficult interview question you were asked? How did you respond?

How do you handle pressure?

I hate responding to this question because I am EXTREMELY calm under pressure but if you answer that the interviewer will think you are just saying that!

How would you describe what you did at TransCore?

I was responsible for the Virginia Dept. of Transportation's toll road facilities.

We completely moved operations from Northern VA to Covington, VA.

I had to build a new data center from the ground up and migrate existing operations.

Built a huge data center consisting of many HP servers and
Cisco gear.

Also got my first taste of SQL clustering!

How would you describe what you did at charter communications?

I was responsible for all aspects of a multi-state network. I maintained all of the routers, switches, optical equipment, DNS servers, etc.

I also helped sell large fiber internet deals with the business division.

How would you describe what you did at teksystems?

Worked at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL.

I was on a team responsible for replacing leased lines at NASA facilities with a private ATM network to carry voice, video, and data.

I also spent time in the design dept. where we designed networks for new facilities and redesigned

How would you describe what you did at MCI Telecommunications?

Worked in the Global East ATM Group.

Provisioned ATM and Frame Relay circuits. Also assisted in circuit turnup with customer.
