Who was your most influential mentor and what did they teach you?

Always do what you feel in your gut is right, and let the chips fall where they may. People may leave you, others may turn their back on you, but at least you can always look yourself in the mirror, and you'll never have trouble sleeping at night.

What advice do you have for someone who wants a job like yours?

You need incredible listening skills--even when it's boring.
Communicate better and keep in touch with everyone.
Blog.
Help people find jobs and see if the thrill you get feels like something you'd be interested in having again soon.
Find passions that you can get deeply involved in--you'll need
'em for the stress relief :)

What's your dream job?

In many ways, I am doing my dream job. I help people land great jobs, and I help good companies locate the talent they need to become great. My favorite part of my job is consulting with business owners and managers on their strategy, learning about how they solve problems, and helping them wherever I can--with ideas, or networking, or (of course) hiring.... read more

What was your first job?

Other than working for the family business, I worked at a movie theater. I think everyone else hated their job (especially my bosses), but I enjoyed it. Seventeen, Free movies and popcorn, I got to help people have a good evening out with their date or their friends/family... it was good times.
