What's your ideal work environment?
The two most important factors of my work environment are: 1) do I enjoy what I'm doing?, and 2) do I enjoy the people with whom I'm working? That said, I thrive in entrepreneurial environments where I can balance independent work with team interaction. I prefer a casual/business casual dress code because I work better when I'm comfortably dressed....

What kind of job are you looking for?
I'm looking for a position where I can maximize my marketing and communications skills, exercise my "big-picture" strategic thinking talents, and use my creative skills to improve business processes. I've spent more than 15 years working on implementation with out much opportunity to flex my strategy development skills. I'm looking for a position that will allow me to make that next step in my career....

What are the most challenging aspects of your job at
blue shield of california?
Because I was working on several periodicals simultaneously, my biggest challenge was to make sure several competing time lines were being met. To meet this challenge I developed a calendar list time management tool that helped me focus on what I needed to be doing today, while making sure I always remember what I needed to be doing in the future....

What are the most challenging aspects of your job at
Vocus?
Of all the four sections of the database -- Newspaper, Magazine, Radio and Television -- managing the Magazine portion was the most challenging. There are so many more magazines being published that newspapers, radio stations or television stations. Also, because each magazine is so unique in what it covers, tagging each one to the appropriate category code, and training others to do so correctly without supervision, what very challenging. But, I was fortunate to work with some great people and had a wonderful team to help me accomplish that job....

1. Small, entrepreneurial environment where I got to where many hats and contribute to the overall success of the company. 2. The upper management were true visionaries from whom I learned quite a bit. 3. KidsGrowth Professional was ahead of its time and provided a truly unique service to pediatric professionals, helping them improve their business....

Managed content for KidsGrowth Professional, including writing features, basic content, recruiting and hiring freelance writers, managing freelance budget, editing staff writer's work. Resulted in growth of site from a dozen pages to more than 200. AviaHealth purchased website in less than two years....

How would you describe what you did at
Vocus?
I managed a team of 2-3 senior media researchers and 8-16 media researchers in building and maintaining the magazine portion of a media contact database. This entailed writing and editing outlet and contact profiles, interviewing and hiring staff, and managing a variety of related projects.
