Lunches at SRS Software are a communal affair. Provided that our board room is vacant we will all take our lunch there and enjoy the company of each other. We will historically talk shop, about our families, extracurricular activities, and weekend antics. It's a great bonding experience like no other....

When I lead the new employee orientations, I usually tell the new hires that SRS Software is laid back and informal within our four walls and conservative and crisply dressed to our external clientele. I would by lying if I said that I didn't enjoy coming to work in jeans and sneakers.

SRS Software is a relatively small organization which is sometimes challenging and sometimes beneficial. As one would expect from a small company, opportunities for advancement are prevalent throughout. The company is growing by leaps and bounds and they now have a "promote within" policy that is an excellent mantra if it can be sustained....

Designing, building, implementing SRS University. A virtual learning center and singular repository for knowledge within the organization.
This intranet contains computer based training sessions on our own proprietary software as well as software applications from Microsoft, Adobe, and Citrix. Training is demo based as well as scenario based for our Support Desk Help Center and out Sales and Implementation/Deployment Staff. SRS University defines informal learning which has increased a new hires capacity and decreased ramp-up time from 6 months to 6 weeks.
SRS University is currently an intranet for SRS employees only. The plan is to eventually role this website out to our external clientele and even the public turning SRS University from a cost center to a revenue center....

It was very straightforward, no nonsense, and simple. The interviewer (my present boss) explained the company, the direction it was following and how he thought the position I was seeking would fit into the plan.
