What's your daily commute like at
Jobster?
I drive my kids out of the city to their preschool on Mercer Island. I park the car there and bus back into the city. Only adds about 15 minutes to the commute, but makes it so much more enjoyable. I forgot about that thing called "reading" where you can look at words that aren't on a computer screen!...

What are the opportunities for advancement at
Jobster?
If by "advancement" you mean getting to put "Senior", "Director of", or "VP" in front of your title, then opportunites in our org are pretty slim.
If by "advancement" you mean getting to take classes, learn a lot on the job, and generally become a better devloper, then the sky's the limit. You'll get out of it what you put into it....

What do people wear to work at
Jobster?
Everyone at Jobster wears exclusively Jobster branded apparel. The coffeerobots wear our custom made "Ruby Hearts Rails" t-shirts. I think I have enough Jobster shirts to last me two work-weeks.

What are the lunches like at
Jobster?
There are tons and tons of great food choices a short walk from our office, and some subset of the whole dev team eats together every day. We either get carry-out at Mae Phim (http://www.maephim.com) aka "$6 Thai", pho at Pho Bac, or burritos at Tenoch. Sometimes if we want a gut buster, we'll get pastrami sandwiches at Tat's (http://www.tatsdeli.com), or if we're in a rush there's always sandwiches at Subway or Quiznos....

What's your workspace like at
Jobster?
I got a new desk location, which unfortunately faces a huge LCD display showing system health. It bothered me being able to see it out of the corner of my eye, so I put up a big curtain in front of my desk.

What music do you listen to at
Jobster?
1. Katamari Damaci Soundtrack 2. Sufjan Stevens 3. Neil Young 4. Stereo Totale
We have a huge mp3 jukebox system with two sets of speakers positioned around the office, so the 40 of us have to get along, musically speaking. For any given album played, 10% of us love it, 80% of us can stand it, and 10% get driven crazy from hearing it....
