The company makes equipment and accessories for endoscopes. My work involves designing pumps, molded plastics and testing them. This is part of my internship, before I graduate by December 2007.

I was tasked with building a fluorescence microscope. I worked with my supervisor, Dr.Avery McIntosh, in designing the system around an upright microscope. We had to design and fabricate mechanical components, put electronics together and develop a software application.

The Doctor of Engineering program blends engineering and business school curriculum. I took it up as it would give me time to continue working on a imaging project I had been working on and prepare me for a job in industry.
