It was a great experience. I learned how to handle news releases and became very familiar with AP Style. The time was invaluable for its experience with editors and fellow writers. I also became much more confident with my people and writing skills as a result of my time in public relations.

Working as a beef farm foreman and farmhand while in high school and the beginning of college provided me with strong work ethic and the ability to push through tough situations. I learned too many manual labor skills to list and also how to work with livestock and heavy machinery. How would you describe your time at Cedarville University?

My time here at Cedarville has been invaluable for many reasons. It is very academically rigorous, forces you into interpersonal interactions daily, and encourages community service in many ways. I have been involved in everything from raking leaves to working with troubled youth in detention centers to helping with Hurricaine Katrina relief. The school also encourages fitness and I have strived to maintain physical health for an active lifestyle and cycle and weight lift weekly. It has been the best 3 years of my life. Academically, I feel very prepared to enter the workforce and personally very ready to handle life. Three academic minors (psychology, graphic design, Bible) in addition to a major has also forced me to focus on maintaining a social life and academic life.... read more
