What advice do you have for someone who wants a job like yours?

I believe you need to be a naturally social person to be a Medical Assistant and also be willing to work hard and learn new techniques. It is very important to always be alert and percise while using your skills to help patients and assist doctors and nurses. I take being a Medical Assistant very seriously because I am responsible for taking tests and giving medication to patients as well as charting and many other duties. I worked at Home Depot for four years. During this time I worked as a cashier and in the returns department. I also became a sales associate in the garden department. I left to pursue my interest in the healthcare field and took the NAR course at St. Joseph Care Center.

I took the Medical Assistant Program at Apollo College of Spokane. I gained numerous front and back office skills. I did very well at Apollo and earned a externship at Spokane Valley ER where I was able to use the skills I learned at school.
