What advice do you have for someone who wants a job like yours?

I believe you need to be a naturally social person to be a Medical Assistant and also be willing to work hard and learn new techniques. It is very important to always be alert and percise while using your skills to help patients and assist doctors and nurses. I take being a Medical Assistant very seriously because I am responsible for taking tests and giving medication to patients as well as charting and many other duties. How would you describe your time at Fairwood Assisted Living?

I assisted residents with bathing,dressing,administering medication, charting and janitorial duties. I enjoyed working at Fairwood but I left because I was in school full time and wanted to focus on my education.

I took the NAR class at St. Joseph Care Center and worked with residents for five months to gain experience. I assisted residents with bathing,dressing,taking vitals,assisting with meals and charting. I left because I lived about an hour and a half away and it was too far to drive. How would you describe your time at Home Depot?

I worked at Home Depot for four years. During this time I worked as a cashier and in the returns department. I also became a sales associate in the garden department. I left to pursue my interest in the healthcare field and took the NAR course at St. Joseph Care Center.

How would you describe your time at apollo College?

I took the Medical Assistant Program at Apollo College of Spokane. I gained numerous front and back office skills. I did very well at Apollo and earned a externship at Spokane Valley ER where I was able to use the skills I learned at school.
