I thrived in this position because they were in the middle of a reorganizational period due to a buyout. All processes were evaluated and revised. All accounting functions were verified.
All inventory was evaluated. Future blanket orders were renegotiated and substantiated.

How would you describe your time at Koinonia Camp & Conference ...?
My first year I was Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director. I was responsible for all accounting functions, scheduling, payroll, mailings, summer camp registrar, reports to the board of directors, soliciting volunteers, assisting in fundraisers. My second year, the Executive Director was dismissed. I was promoted to Office Manager and asked by the board of directors to run the facility for one year without a director. My staff and I were totally successful and for the first time in 40 years, we closed the year in the black....

How would you describe your time at IRC?
This is where I learned my accounting skills. This is where I learned integrity, accountability and confidentiality. This is where I learned that respect is earned. I was groomed for 5 years to take over for my mother-in-law when she retired. I learned everything about a business from the ground up. Working at midnight was common. Working all weekend was common. I learned to understand and deal with employees from all department, bankers, accountants, the IRS, suppliers, OSHA, and various entities of city, state and federal government. I am the confident, "can do anything" person that I am today because of this experience....
