I work well with a team, I make sure my co-workers are informed of what new information has been brought down from management if they could not attend a meeting. I am always willing to help my co-workers be successful. I do whatever I can when I can I answer any and all questions if they have any. I continue to touch the lives of many students, I have analyzed Individual Education Plans in order to ensure the students are receiving the best education in the least restrictive environment. I conduct meetings with teachers, parents, and administrators. Educate teachers and parents on their rights and responsibilities. Write coorespondence to teachers and administrators. At this company, the sales director and I went on sales calls to businesses to sign contracts with for their clients and trainees for long-terms stays at the hotel. We organized social barbecues during the Summers, wine and cheese tastings in the fall along with dinner parties for the businesses and their clients and/or trainees. This education afforded me the opportunity to learn about the laws put in place to assist students/adults with disabilities. I also wrote my masters paper on
the overrepresentation of African-American males/males in special education. With this education I am able to advocate for the students I teach and their parents. I am a member of the CEC which keeps me up to date on the changes that are put in place for students/adults with disabilities.
