What path did you take to your current career?
I didn't have a linear path. No career counselor could have plotted this course.
That said, I've always been willing to pursue challenges that tap into a few of my interests. Sometimes this has been an interest in an industry, or an interest in evolving legistlation and the resulting impact on organizations in the cross hairs.
Always, I've looked for opportunities to leverage my core skills - a quickness to orient in new situations, an ability to rapidly "onboard" into a company, and a real interest in making lasting contributions to an organization in flux.
I would recommend to professionals seeking change to consider their passions, and look for opportunities that lie at the crossroads of ability and interest. You will be much more willing to grow and stretch where you have passions than simply where you see opportunity....
