How would you describe your time at AAA Auto Club South?
I was hired by the Ft. Lauderdale Fleet at a time when the fleet was expanding exponentially. As the first Administrative Assistant in the fleet's five year existence, my first priority was to organize the office. I archived old files and overhauled the filing system entirely.
Once the office was organized, I tackled the task of computerizing basic office processes. I created a series of Word and Excel templates for the deposit preparation, report processing and data analysis.
Within my first year with the company, I earned the company's "Extraordinary Performer's Bonus" for streamlining all of the clerical functions....

How would you describe your time at ABC Distributing?
I worked for ABC during a tumultuous time in the company's history.
I was hired only one month after my Quality Assurance coworker started. Only three months later, the Quality Assurance Manager resigned for a better opportunity at another company.
This left the working of the department to two relatively new employees. The very busy merchandising director would have to bridge the gap left by our manager in order to supervise.
The two of us worked without direct supervision or assistance for the next six months. Although the merchandise director was now in charge of overseeing our work, she often did not have the time needed to truly mentor or work with us. It was a challenging time for all involved.
My coworker was promoted to the position of manager before the year was through. However, within her first month as manager, the merchandising director took a two month vacation, once again leaving us to work on our own with little training, experience of guidance.
In January of the new year, as I prepared to celebrate my first anniversary with the company, I was informed that ABC would be closing down and joining their affiliate in Illinois.
I was given the option to stay with the deteriorating company until I was laid off, or to take the time I needed to find a new employer.
Although it was often trying, I learned a lot about myself during my time with ABC....

How would you describe your time at KAR Printing?
I started working at KAR Printing on a one-day, temporary receptionist. Fortunately, the company was impressed by my work and decided to keep me on until the full time receptionist returned from maternity leave.
I immediately felt like I belonged with KAR. As receptionist, I greeted visitors, handled job applications, answered and routed calls, sorted paperwork and handled incoming and outgoing mail and faxes.
At the end of one month, the Human Resources Director called the full time receptionist back in from maternity leave in order to relocate me to the Human Resources and Accounts Payable department. I was told that the company had every intention to create a permanent position for me as a HR/AP Assistant.
For the next two months, I assisted with photocopying, sorting, filing, data entry, report processing, mailing out payments, completing forms and other related tasks.
Unfortunately, at the end of two months, management informed me that they were unable to generate enough of a workload to warrant a permanent position for me....
