Ryan Johnson

My first job was as a software tester at Smiths Medical, testing small medical devices designed for drug delivery. This wasn't really any job I was expecting I would have as a first, or even anything I'd expect to have considering that my official academic training is in Linguistics. On the other hand, what landed this job for me was in part linguistics (perhaps because of the sorts of problem solving we have to do in linguistics), and part due to my history of being very skilled with electronic devices and software and those sorts of things.
