I feel that I am a good candidate for the position as I have cared for birds, snakes, turtles and other reptiles (including iguanas and bearded dragons). I have done stream monitoring for the Audubon Natural Society, and am a member of the Raptor Society of Metropolitan Washington. I have been a licensed falconer for four years and have worked with Professor Richard W. Thorington, PHD, of the University of Maryland, College Park (known for his mammalian work). I am a member. of The American Bat Conservation Society, Audubon Naturalist Society, and Raptor Society of Metropolitan Washington & have volunteered for all of them .I trained the wild squirrels to come when the are called & to open given time open containers of food Also I cared for two small pups that my have fallen out of drey they lived W/me until they were releasable I found out they like to break things allot!! My work experience includes several years of kennel work where I cared for dogs and cats, & other animals including birthing pups and giving medications and injections as needed. Also I volunteered at second chance wildlife center for 1yr caring for a wide variety of mammals and birds ,reptiles (vultures ,raccoons ,bats ).I feel a great deal of empathy for animals and relate to them well.
