How would you describe your time at MarketStar?

MarketStar uses my unique skill set for a combination role. This dual role allows me and my company to take full-advantage of the value I can provide. 50% of my time is spent managing the relationship with Best Buy while the other 50% is business development.
Best Buy Account Director:
MarketStar is a member of Best Buy???s Third Party Program (3PL) and as such is required to have an on-site representative. I was the first person from my company in this role which meant I had to start from scratch. It is an extremely challenging environment to work in. I quickly evaluated the role and now define it by three major categories:
1. Manage the Relationship with Best Buy ??? Keep us on the approved list. This means understanding Best Buy policies, processes, and culture as well as developing key relationships at Best Buy and then provide training back to MarketStar teams.

2. Add Value Back to MarketStar and Clients ??? Work with the 15+ MarketStar teams to add my insights, knowledge, and experience with Best Buy. Ensure that our teams??? success at Best Buy is maximized. This also means I have had to develop relationships directly with every one of our clients and MarketStar teams, including: Sony, LG, Whirlpool, BlackBerry, Microsoft, HP, etc.

3. Sell MarketStar Services to Best Buy ??? Sell retail-support services to Best Buy categories (e.g. training, product demonstrations, event support, and assisted selling activities).

Business Development Manager: Over time, my role has moved beyond just Best Buy and I now use my retail and Best Buy experience to sell MarketStar solutions to other clients. I work through the entire business development process from start to finish: Lead finding and management, solution creation, proposal writing, sales presentations, closing business and contract negotiations.
Key Results:
??? Defined my current role. No one knew what to expect for the role so my company had to choose someone with the ability to work with very little direction. I was tasked with evaluating the situation and determining the best strategy for our company.
??? Successfully positioned MarketStar as a premier, high-end 3rd party provider to Best Buy.
??? Received the highest possible vendor scores in Best Buy???s 3PL program which included compliance numbers, customer satisfaction surveys, and feedback forms.
??? Identified and closed several business opportunities.

How would you describe your time at MarketStar?

As Creative Marketing Manager, my primary responsibility was to oversee production of all creative marketing materials including print, web, signage, and promotional items. Since this required extensive vendor involvement, I was in charge of managing all the agencies assisting in the production of our marketing material. My creative skills in addition to my strategic and positioning skills were also put to use in developing our sales presentations. I worked closely with our business development, operations, and executive teams to design and develop key sales presentations. When time came to send someone to Best Buy to position us effectively, who better than someone who had been closely attached to so many aspects of our business including our marketing and sales strategy?
Key Results:
??? Headed up the complete revamp of all creative work including: web site, signage, and collateral.
??? Launched several successful large marketing campaigns targeting corporate executives.
??? Successfully developed the strategy and created the presentation to get MarketStar on Best Buy???s approved third party list.
??? Received the MarketStar RockStar award (given to less than 1% of top performers in the company).

How would you describe your time at MarketStar?

I began my career at MarketStar as an entry-level market analyst. In a period of two years, my title was changed 3 times along with my salary. It was my job to analyze sales, markets, trends, competitive intelligence, targets and segments and provide recommendations in order to improve program effectiveness. I served as the strategic lead on the BlackBerry account, working directly with the Account Executive as well as the client. In these two years, I gained crucial analytical skills that I have used in every role since then.
Key Results:
??? Convinced BlackBerry to increase the market analysis time from 10 hours per week to 40 hours per week.
??? Developed an expansion justification model that was adopted by every retail team at MarketStar.
??? Received MarketStar quarterly MVP award.
