Who was your most influential mentor and what did they teach you?
Sona is the person I respect so much. She is the best manager I ever had. For many many years she has been a business manager. I have worked under many people over the years , yes they have the proper title but don't have the charachter to lead or train others properly. When I first started working for her, I would write done how to do something, she agreed this was a good idea. So later I could go back over what I wrote and use it as a guide to follow by. One of the many things she taught me to do was use Microsoft Excel applying the captial gain assets from our church into data entry spaces. After she taught me various aspects of the office , she would stand back and say" Kris you do it now!" I feel that this is the most efficient way to train someone. First ,step is to tell someone how to do it. Than show them by example or by doing it for them. Writing directions down is very helpful, to go over later and follow as a guide. But the best result ,I had was when she had asked me to do it by myself. She did oversee me which is very wise to do! We learn by doing, and mistakes well they will happen, thats part of the process. Hands on learning perfects our abilities. She exemplifies the charachter of one who can lead with kindness, patience and authority....
