How would you describe your time at uFunctional?
I didn't fit any of HR slots (programmer, business analysis, project manager, development manager) so I struck out on my own.
I've really enjoyed it. As an outsider, I get to help software-intensive companies in ways an insider never could. I am able to interact as a peer with both technical and non-technical people at every level in the organization.

I've also had to build a professional network, learn to use social networking tools (LinkedIn and Twitter), build and run my own Wordpress-based website and blog.
I've also counseled others on their career direction and helped them find employment.

I led the estimation and quoting of nearly all projects and wrote nearly all of our proposals. I led the switch from waterfall, a document-heavy requirements process and sales-driven estimation to an agile process, faciltated requirements workshops, and metrics-based estimation....
