What path did you take to your current career?
I was a very technical programmer in my "first life." I worked to BSG Alliance/IT, a boutique consulting company in Texas, when I graduated from college in 1994. I loved the culture of excellence at BSG, and when I decided to make a career change, I still kept in close contact with the folks I had known there.
Then I moved on to Forte Software, which was later purchased by Sun Microsystems. At Forte, I was a member of the professional services team, and I had clients around the world. It was a great job, and I had the opportunity to be exposed to an incredible variety of projects, people, and business solutions.
In 2000, I decided to make the leap to stay-at-home motherhood. My husband and I had 4 children over the next 5 and a half years, and I enjoyed the time I was able to spend with my children. In 2007, I was approached by the CEO of the "new" BSG Alliance, who asked if I could help him out with some projects. One thing led to another, and I ended up accepting a position as a corporate recruiter for the New York office. I get to work from home (which happens to be Chaska, MN), and I still get to make a difference in a unique and dynamic organization....
