What kind of job are you looking for?

The company that I previously worked for had a wonderful approach to its employees. They treated us like intelligent, capable adults that were living life and striving to do our best and in doing so, it was expected that we would encounter times when we would make mistakes. When this happened they (senior managment) would sit with us to help determine the best course of action next time that situation came about. We were given the dignity of being human and not made to feel that we were worthless when we fell below the "zero defect" model (although with an environment like this we all strived for zero defect daily). We were told to handle our department like it was our own business and that it exactly what we did. Nobody breathing down our neck and micromanaging us. It fostered an atmosphere of complete respect and confidence in all of the employees and thus made us extremely frugal, forward thinking and creative. This is the type of environment where I was stretched beyond what I thought was possible and even surprised myself at the level of growth (both personally and professionally)I managed to gain. This has now become the standard for me when looking into joining another company. That job was never felt like a job to me.... it felt like part of my story. I am thankful for every moment of it and hope that I get the opportunity to work for another company that values thier employees like that.... read more
