How would you describe your time at Packet Publications?
I am responsible for the information compilation, organization and layout of the social sections for both the South Brunswick Post and The Cranbury Press, as well as the school pages for the South Brunswick Post. I write the regular column "Back Porch." Using Harris Newsmaker Pagination, I build other pages within the papers, incorporating articles and photo packages. I edit staff and guest writers' articles. I write one to three additional articles most weeks. I have spearheaded long-term news packages, which includes assigning articles to staff writers. I update the papers' Web sites with all the information printed in the social sections....
Photographer and copy editor; Opinion Editor
How would you describe your time at The Rider News?
As a copy editor, I edited each article within the paper several times, paying attention to mechanics, organization, explanation and adherence to the AP Style. As opinion editor, I was reponsible for the layout of the opinion section, assigned columns to staff writers, edited the columns within my section and wrote a weekly editorial expressing the general opinion of the editorial board. Being a section editor required me to become familiar with Apple computers and Photoshop, InDesign and Dreamweaver....
Student Writing Associate
How would you describe your time at rider university?
I was trained in the theories of writing and tutoring as a Student Writing Associate for one semester. I worked with students in one-on-one sessions, was responsible for exclusive tutoring of an expository writing class and helped students improve as writers while offering supplemental guidance outside of the classroom. I received my Level I certification in December 2004....
