What path did you take to your current career?

I sent in my resume on a whim one weekend afternoon and received a phone call about an interview. I walked into an office with a young lady wearing jeans and a t-shirt to the office. At that point, I was I wearing bight 4 inch heels and black pants. When I learned I could wear jeans to work, I was sold.

After almost a year of that the people at AHC took notice of my ability to keep track of things. Part of the second year of the NeighborWorks Grant they needed to add a Quality Control person. They picked me! I love it!

How would you describe your time at ACORN Housing?

I work with all the ACORN offices in the state (Dallas, El Paso, Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio) to make sure that they feel comfortable with the NeighborWorks grant. Whether that means getting in paperwork, answering questions about specific cases, or getting them statistics about their city.
