Sub-contracted by Jacobs Engineering ASG to help develop a high-level ITIL oversight strategy for NMCI (the Navy/Marine Corps Intranet) at SPAWAR (the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command) in San Diego. As part of this initiative, I composed a comprehensive best practices Compendium and Program Performance Specification defining the desired ITSM end-state in preparation for a discovery initiative and gap analysis of services provided by government contractors as well as civilian employees and military personnel, including best practices presented by ITIL, COBIT, ISO 20000, Lean Six Sigma, ITUP (the IBM Tivoli Unified Process), and MOF (the Microsoft Operations Framework)....

Process owner & manager for ITIL-compatible Configuration Management. Initial assignment was to set up candidate screenings and Proof of Concept solution testing for six CMDB auto-discovery tools (BMC Discovery, EMC Smarts Discovery Manager [previously nLayers InSight], Opsware, PerfCap FindIT, Symantec Veritas Configuration Manager [previously Relicore Clarity], and Microsoft SMS). This was intended to be an integral part of a worldwide (137-site) corporate ITIL rollout involving BMC Remedy 7.0 and Atrium 2.0, with most probably Foundation, Configuration, and Topology Discovery. I left after only two months when GTECH was acquired by Gruppo Lottomatica and eliminated my position....

Part of a team sub-contracted by Darwin Partners to build a CMDB for Kaiser in Pasadena, CA. Established the MS SQL Server KPHealthConnect servers pilot CMDB for the Configuration Management Office (CMO) using MS Access to prototype. This application includes more than 2,000 Wintel servers and over 400 AIX servers. Worked with a four-man team to evaluate CMDB and auto-discovery solutions, document findings and user requirements, and plan proofs of concept and technology acquisition (including System of Record integration into the eventual federated CMDB) with SMEs and the business units....
