At the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University I was a highly qualified individual who served as the Program Associate/Site Coordinator (Deputy Director of Youth Programs). The position was primarily responsible for overseeing and providing training, technical assistance, and quality assurance for the CASASTART program. CASASTART is a comprehensive, school-based substance abuse prevention program for high risk youth ages 8 - 13 and is in more than 120 schools nationwide. My duties included, but were not limited to, helping market the program to new sites, specifying core services, developing stakeholder partnerships, designing data management systems, facilitating funding support, identifying potential problems and suggesting ideas and solutions. Additionally, I worked closely with school-based case managers and other community stakeholders to design procedures for recruitment and intake, developing individual service plans, monitoring service delivery and outcomes, facilitating the creation of key partnership meetings, and helping to secure resources and services from other agencies. I also made presentations to local groups, prepared reports to funders, and contributed to papers for journal articles. I had a Master's Degree in public policy analysis and management, plus about 5 years of experience in providing or supervising community services for youth. Additionally, I had experience working in culturally diverse neighborhoods, and strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.... read more
