How would you describe your time at Houston Shutters?
Currently, I am managing various departments and projects with the goal of sustaining and securing efficient growth.
Scheduling Department. My primary duties are managing the installation of our product directly with retail customers and managing the shipping of our product to our out of state destinations.
This involves managing a small call center as well as a warehouse crew which is responsible for loading our product on both company owned trucks and common carrier trucks.
Rework Department. This department involves troubleshooting manufacturing issues which have led to either reworking or remaking shutters and frames. I am tasked with correcting the orders, putting orders back in to production, and having the reinstallation occur within 7 business days.
Home Builder Department. This area involves constant contact with construction managers and design centers of major new home builders. My function in this position is to coordinate installations with the completion of model homes owned by various new home builders.
Furthermore, this position requires I work in tandem with contractors, production and project managers and our accounting team to insure timely installations in newly purchased homes prior to their closing. Further requirements include customer service, both in the office as well as in the field.
I am also responsible for some personnel issues, which includes hiring, development, and compensation. Related responsibilities include translating job-related information and acting as liaison between management and our Spanish speaking labor force.
Previous duties included, but are not limited to, sales, creating and reviewing quotes, negotiating price, and contract reviews.
Major Accomplishments:
*Designed a call center in order to properly field the increase of phone traffic.
*Reduced operations costs by streamlining shipping process and re-negotiating shipping rates.
*Improved "Face of the Customer" score, a grading tool used by our prominent retailer (The Home Depot), by over 50% in the last year.
*Designed and implemented various processes to increase the speedy delivery of our merchandise while maintaining the delicate shipping procedures needed for our furniture grade product....
