What advice do you have for someone looking for their first job out of college?
For the most part, professional recruiters rarely handle entry level positions. However, it makes sense to begin building your network of contacts right away, and your network should most definitely include recruiters who specialize in your chosen field.
One important item to consider - the folks with whom you try to network can access MySpace, You Tube, etc. as readily as Jobster and Linked In. Be sure that everywhere you turn up on the web, the content reflects well on you.
This doesn't mean you should stop using all those fun Internet serives, just be careful about what you (and your friends) put online. If your web presence helps professional contact get a sense of who you are, that's great...provided that the 'who you are' impression is not a bad one....
