Who was your most influential mentor and what did they teach you?
Probably my 9th grade English teacher, Mrs. Thayer (and why is it that we can never remember our teacher's real names?). I was an isolated, introspective, insightful young man, and she successfully drew me out of my shell through my poetry and essays, focused on the uniqueness of my view point, and let me express myself freely in class. Wow...all the creative communication work I've done since then was enabled by her generousity, kindness and encouragement. Another one of those people I wish I had appreciated more at the time....
