Senior Network Engineer
How would you describe your time at Emerson Network Power?
* Basic administration of Sun Solaris and Linux servers. Advanced administration of Novell and Microsoft Operating Systems, including configuration and troubleshooting. * Experience co-coordinating with service providers to have WAN circuits installed/managed. * Extensive experience engineering existing networks and proposing upgrades. This includes the initial design phase, recommendation of hardware/software, migration strategies, network management, problem resolution, etc. * Responsible for the installation, engineering, troubleshooting and administration of the following software, hardware and technologies (including but not limited to):
Cisco Remote Access servers; Cisco Catalyst 1900, 2900, 3500, 5000 and 6000 family of switches; Cisco Catalyst Route Switch Modules and MSFC's; Cisco 2600, 2800, 3600, 4000, and 7000 series routers; Cisco Airespace Wireless solutions (LWAPP AP's and Wireless controllers); Cisco Works for Switched Internetworks; Cisco Secure Remote Access Server; MRTG; Smoke Ping; Solarwinds; RRD Tool; SQL Server; Sybase SQL; Oracle SQL; Vital QIP; IIS, Sniffer; Ethereal, Checkpoint Firewall-1 and NGX, Checkpoint SecuRemote, SecurID. Extensive experience in routing TCP/IP and IPX/SPX (using RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, static routes, etc); implementing routers, remote access servers, proxies, switches, firewalls, DMZ's, IDS systems and network security policies.
* Extensive troubleshooting and deployment experience of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, Frame Relay, VPN, DSL, 802.11x,NNTP, SMTP, RADIUS, TACACS+, SNMP, NFS, DNS, WINS, DHCP, DDNS, SSL, MLS, VLAN's, VTP, etc.) * Extensive experience in backup and disaster recovery strategies * Experienced in resolving mission critical issues on a global scale, excellent analytical abilities. * Recently completed a complete refresh and upgrade of data network in our Mexico facilities which consisted of Cisco 6500 switches, WLC (Airespace) wireless controllers and ensuring QoS from end to end. This project was in excess of $1 million dollars and required staging the equipment for two weeks in a lab environment. * Responsible for the network/security design and rollout of LWAPP wireless access points to replace existing autonomous access points. * Responsible for design and rollout of an MPLS WAN solution to replace legacy frame-relay environment....
