What was your most memorable summer job?

Working at the Oklahoma Aquarium. This job was memorable, not because of my actual job as a cashier but because of the aquarium itself. Before work and durring any breaks or slow time I was allowed to wander through the 72,000 foot facility containing over 200 exhibits, 1,000's of species of sea life, and a 500,000 gallon shark tank. The shark tank is complete with a tunnel giving you an unobstructed 360 degree view of the largest bull sharks in captivity. As you can tell, I got asked "what's in here that makes it worth $14.95?" fairly often.... read more

How would you describe your time at Training and Educational Se...?

I began at NCCT in an entry level position and have gained experience and knowledge in accounting, data management, collections, public relations, management, marketing, and design. Becuase NCCT is a small company (about 40 employees currently) I have been able to work in a variety of areas and gain important knowledge and experience in more areas that most positions would enable me to. I have developed letter, envelopes, and letterhead, order forms, and other promotional materials that were sent to well over 150,000 students, as well as schools, laboratories, businesses, and other customers. I wrote and placed advertisements for multiple job positions within my department. After placing advertisements and screening resumes I conducted interviews for and helped hire three employees. After just seven months in the company I was promoted to be the highest grossing department "team leader". Some of my duties included answering all customer emails regarding continuing education, handling call center questions and problems, and directing as many as eight other employees. I began working on a networking website in July of 2007 designed to connect customers, schools, and businesses and was given creative control of the site's content and direction. This has been by far the most enjoyable position I have been at durring my time at NCCT and I am excited to be using the skills I learned while earnging my degree. I now write and design two monthly newsletters which have been sent to over 75,000 customers in both electronic and hard copy form. The number of recipients as well as the open and click through rates have increased each month for bother newsletters.... read more
