Described duties called for establishing, staffing and equipping the Company's research laboratory in Orlando, Florida, conducting research and development work for downstream process beginning with harvesting and maceration to extraction and purification of proteins and protective antibodies expressed in chloroplasts, developing vaccines and therapeutic proteins, making filings originating from such research work, initiating and leading research from bench level investigations to commercial termination, coordinating events with operations located in India, providing guidance for conducting pre-clinical and clinical studies, leading compilation and submission of data to applicable United States and Republic of India governmental and regulatory authorities for approval of products derived from research, writing grant proposals and pursuing such grants on behalf of the Company....

How would you describe your time at Emergent BioSolutions?
- Acquired and managed a $5 million DARPA contract for a novel adjuvant evaluation that led to publications in a peer-reviewed journal and a presentation at a national meeting through successful research. Efficacy was proven in a successful Phase 1/2 clinical trial.
- Gained an exclusive license to the adjuvant for a potential $30 million a year product.
- For a targeted annual return of $75 million, managed a recombinant Bacillus anthracis rPA/rLF/rEF vaccine project.
- Obtained licensing rights to novel adjuvants (CpG), delivery systems (patch technology, microneedles and scarifying devices), carriers (intranasal powders), and oral sustained release systems (microsphere capsules) for use with three new major pipeline products
- Developed a strategic partnership with an Indian company for the registration and sales and marketing of an FDA-licensed vaccine in India with a market in excess of $100 million.
- Managed the company???s Scientific Advisory Panel leading to the preparation of four White Papers on company programs that were subsequently presented on Capitol Hill.
- Provided due diligence of Antex Biologics, leading to its acquisition and BioPorts expansion into a commercial portfolio that included Chlamydia, Haemophilus, Shigella, as well as Botulinum.
- Played a pivotal role in initiating the acquisition of Microscience Ltd., UK, and the further expansion of the company commercial pipeline, including Typhoid, Hepatitis b, Travelers Diarrhea, Meningitis, and Group B Streptococcus vaccines.
- Re-established sales of a $80 million a year vaccine by developing a new B. anthracis spore bank at Battelle Memorial Research Institute and had it fully characterized and validated for BioPorts FDA-approved vaccine potency test....
