I really enjoyed this job. It was a small company, so I wore a lot of hats. The hours were long and the work got hectic at times, but the people I worked with were outstanding.

It was a mom & pop awning shop. We put in long hours and worked hard. I learned a lot about management and dealing with people. I had a great close ratio here because I not only sold the product but I manufactured it too. It was a very effective sales tool.

How would you describe your time at U.S. Army?

I'm glad I joined the Army but I wouldn't want to do it again. The work is hard and the pay is awful, but I learned a lot about myself. I learned that no matter how difficult a challenge seems, you can overcome it if you persevere. I learned the importance of discipline and self-motivation. I met people from all over the world.
