Participated in the 2008 Texas Business and Education Coalition VIP Briefing and Conference where State Representatives, Educators and Business Leaders shared concerns and compliments regarding the State of Texas' focus on improving the transitions from K-12 learning to higher education to competent leaders of our businesses, communities and government. Daily objectives included acquisition of new accounts and further penetration of existing accounts related to IT, technical, light industrial and general staffing. Responsible for improvements in gross profit margin through assessment of current accounts and initiation of adjusted pricing agreements where necessary. Assisted with unemployment and worker's compensation claims management. Performed market analysis and target planning. Accountable for accurately coding and routing emails containing programming information for ALL U.S. broadcast, cable and satellite stations along with a number of International and foreign language affiliates to the editing department for entry into the data management system. Key objectives included contacting stations to request submittal of programming grids, tracking of station information, database maintenance related to station call signs, format, affiliation and assigned editing team. Assist business owner in preparation of all financial records for surrender to auditor assigned by the State Comptroller of Texas as required for a randomly selected sales tax audit. After preliminary notification of a possible tax debt of over $13K, the outcome of this temporary project was a determination of NO additional tax liability. Provided business consulting services for an area leader in swimming pool service and repairs. Performed office management duties including general office functions, employee scheduling and dispatch, tax reporting, payroll and general accounting. Assessed company policies and processes and made recommendations for adjustments to manage company expenses, improve employee productivity and streamline reporting functions thus improving the bottom line. During this assessment process, adjustments to the work order process were made that dramatically increased sales by eliminating dead tickets and unbilled labor. More thorough employee training practices were installed and a targeted marketing plan was designed to reach the desired customer base. Benefits of these changes were both client retention AND employee retention. Developed training workshop hosted by the City of Euless, TX which focused on educating local businesses of new Health and Safety Regulations and their obligations for compliance. Member of initial start-up team at Unistar Insurance, a new Property and Casualty Insurance Company. Pioneered the "Unistar University" by developing and facilitating a mandatory Underwriting and Customer Service training program and skill assessment for all current staff and new employees. Supervised all underwriting and premium funding staff. Duties included underwriting new and renewal auto insurance or renter's insurance policies including review of applications and property photos, driver and vehicle data reports such as CLUE and MVR, and overall assessment of risk acceptability. Determined necessity of premium increases due to any applicable surcharges and/or notice of cancellation based on facts uncovered during underwriting process and use of independent judgment.
