How would you describe your time at SAS Institute?

Developed a comprehensive strategy and associated programs for revitalizing the SAS brand image through organizational alignment. Activities include a strategic brand audit, development of a relevant brand foundation for multiple audiences and building a comprehensive, cross-functional execution plan. In addition, am aligning SAS' multiple independent and sub-brands to more closely tie to the SAS master brand. Also developed revised SAS sub-branding strategy and guidelines in conjunction with creative services group to help eliminate brand fragmentation and "creep" within the company.

Provide strategic counsel and guidance to various SAS creative teams in order to help align messaging and overall brand presentation. Continue to work with multiple country offices and global human resources to develop integrated local brand and communications programs. Personally wrote and oversaw design and production of the SAS Annual Reports for 2004-2006.

Manage the diverse business portfolio of EC Stewart Designs, Inc. focusing on raising the profile of EC Stewart branded products and licensed imagery in multiple new luxury categories. Responsibilities include overall business and brand strategies, product development, business development and supply chain management. Working closely with the CEO, we have seen revenues double every year, developed a comprehensive communications and marketing program and continued growth despite very tight budgets. The result; EC Stewart name and imagery are recognized throughout the target industries, press hits increase every quarter and our largest customers continue to expand their relationship.

Additional work includes trend spotting, analysis and identification of upcoming design and product trends in order to provide trend-forward insight to companies looking to stay ahead of their competitors with regards to design and imagery.

Acted as primary architect of Home Director brand as both an IBM trademark and an independent brand. These activities included strategic brand management and oversight of the marketing communications programs for Home Director as an in-box feature of IBM Aptiva PCs, through its introduction as an independent brand following spin-off from IBM. After the spin-off, had overall management of the entire brand and marketing communications program including strategy and plan development, public relations, marketing research, advertising, collateral programs, vertical marketing and trade shows. Led team that developed unique communications and sales support program, which directly resulted in customer commitments for over 15,000 units within the first year of introduction. Managed development and execution of marketing, communications and media relations programs for the IBM Home Networking business unit. Successfully established IBM as a leader in the emerging home networking
market through proactive media relations and targeted communications programs. This included responsibilities for creating the brand communications strategy, corporate media and analyst relations, overseeing press releases and executive management. Resulted in IBM's emergence as a premier player in the home networking marketplace, and achieved positive press for IBM in-line with its other strategic initiatives. Following it's spin-off from IBM in January of 2000, continued working to actively position Home Director brand for recognition and growth.
