How would you describe your time at Livinman Pictures?
I departed DNP advertising after the climate in Knoxville had reached a production zenith for both commercial and television programming (#5 in the nation). I directed a national commercial for Ruby Tuesday restaurants produced for Bernstein-Rein Advertising and continued to make commercials for DNP. As the economy began to dip, I had to adapt to the changing environment by selling several indoor playgrounds ("Events@Sherlake" and "Jumpity Jump") on the idea of safety videos (then successfully creating them). When not occupied with production work, I served as a quality control consultant for Rivr Media encompassing national programming for Scripps, Discovery an A & E Networks. Still ever searching for new markets, I sold three death care company chains on the idea of allowing me to create DVD tributes for their deceased. During my spare time I advise/instruct Boy Scouts in the Cinematography Merit Badge (Eagle Scout - 1972)....

How would you describe your time at KINO film,"Hell's Highway:T...?
Worked on this documentary with old friends and fellow directors, Bret Wood and Steve Anderson. We did this on holidays and weekends away from our normal jobs. I did several duties using my acquried skill sets (we all did - after all, it was a labor of love to have the opportunity to work with pals): assisting with film camera, audio technician, shooting with the video camera, lighting, consulting on post production....

How would you describe your time at WATE-TV6?
After PM magazine was essentially bumped by syndicated programming, I was appointed to a new position in the creative dept.; successfully spawning new, low-budget commercials for all of WATE's clients. I was fortunate enough to write several award-winning PSAs and urged to create/write wrap-arounds for an hour-long television show featuring (at that time) the latest fad, music videos....

How would you describe your time at PM Magazine Syndicated TV Show?
PM Magazine provided a potpourri of work experience both at home an abroad. Local branches of PM produced several segments a week; while these segments aried locally, all were shared with other PMs from coast-to-coast. Shooting video and cutting video, plus managing audio and shooting arrangements typically slotted hosts in various geographic environments: shooting with guest Phyllis Diller during a cruise to St. Thomas, then doing the same with Dick Cavett in New Orleans for Expo '84...

How would you describe your time at Public Access Channel 20 TV...?
Shot, produced, and directed half-hour and hour-long, commercial-free programming. Among high points, I was lucky enough to interview Frank Capra, director of the classic film, "It's Wonderful Life" and venerable character actor, William Windom. Taught volunteers how to create their own shows. Produced and directed live city and county political programming. Even pinch hit at master control....

How would you describe your time at The University of Tennessee...?
While at UT I was lucky enough to work on a feature film and a government funded documentary, as well as serving on the UT Central Film Committee researching and making deals for non-theatrical film bookings in both 16 and 35mm theatres. I made a "no-smoking" short film in 16mm that aired prior to all showings at the student center auditorium during 1977....
