Who was your most influential mentor and what did they teach you?

My most influential mentor was my high school English teacher; she is actually one of my co-workers in the district where I teach now. She taught me the beauty of literature is what you make of it, that the real "creation" is between the writer and the reader's interpretation of the work. She taught me that the magic of interpreting literature never ages, and that new ideas are always right on the surface waiting to be drug up.... read more
