Learning the business. It is very time consuming and detail oriented - I had to learn all of the requirements for operating this company - both for inter and intra state transporting. Maintaining all licenses, permits, completing Quarterly IFTA reports and maintaining carrier agreements - updating as necessary....

What are the most challenging aspects of your job at
state of california?
Working with the state during budget negotiations while finding alternatives that required the addition of resources to improve the process or solve. There was a severe lack of resources more so than normal, I had to use unconventional methods to implement opportunites for improvement. Some examples of unconventional methods were challenging previous decisions on IT resources used, suggesting process automation where the person's skill was inadequate to support the automation routine and working on a non-billable basis to complete the assignment due to client's constrained resources.......

What are the most challenging aspects of your job at
AMI?
Many of my clients are not motivated and some are mentaly challenged to the point that communication is nearly imposssible. Nevertheless, I have the responsibility to remain patient, stay focused, and continue to not give up on them so they can not give up on themselves.

Keeping associates aligned with constant change. We averaged 500 plus engineering changes over the first 3 years. New materials, components and assembly processes kept managers and associates focused. Union facilities can at times push back as a single entity when constant changes in requirements upset the balance of the workforce....

What I find to be challenging at my job is that I'm still learning, don't get me wrong I love to learn but it's not easy to work in a kitchen and have chefs expecting you to know exactly what to do. I haven't been to school yet for Culinary Arts, I plan to in the near future, it's no excuse I should be asking for more challenges and responibilities, that is something I am working at....
