How would you describe what you did at Infospace?

Directed the planning, implementation and operation of the company's networks, systems and physical infrastructure across multiple North American and International sites. Worked closely with business partners and customers to implement new services, address issues, and provide stellar service. Key player in establishing InfoSpace as reliable business partner by providing high-availability services backed by Service Level Agreements. Successfully accomplished critical initiatives that were key to business partnerships, revenue growth and cost avoidance. Managed annual budget of approximately $6 million.
* Determined opportunity for cost savings with top Internet provider. Renegotiated network services contract to reduce bandwidth costs by 30%, saving $750,000 and maintaining 'win-win' perception.
* Led engineering teams in design and implementation of data centers engineered for scalability, high-availability and performance. Achieved standards for security and reliability, allowing company to establish strategic e-commerce and wireless partnerships.
* Consolidated multiple networks and hundreds of servers in disparate locations. Reduced average recurring costs for hosting and communications by 25%.
* Led project to implement Content Distribution of graphics and streaming media. Improved site performance as much as 50%. Provided capability to respond quickly to business demands in a cost-effective manner.
* Established processes for change management and version control. Eliminated virtually all outages resulting from human error, achieving consistent availability above 99.99%.
* Developed model for estimating Cost of Service, which calculated capital and recurring costs for new and existing business initiatives. This was a key factor in determining potential profitability of new business and acquisitions.
