Know a driver and get recommended. That's how I got started. Another driver also told me that, back in the day, they would mostly hire sports fans and athletes.
If you want to work for UPS be ready for at least three and a half hours of continuous labor.

The secret at getting hired is being fastastic with numbers, because if hired you will be using numbers in a daly basics. For example, while sorting boxes your reading the label or scanning to label boxes from covier belt takes a lot of physical activity. The secret to getting hired at UPS is just mainly conditioning yourself both physically and mentally to be able to do the job of a package handler. To perform the physical standards of the job make sure that you keep yourself in in a very healthy ahspe to be able to perform the functions of the job. What advice would you give to a new employee at UPS?

Try and keep up with the driver, and be at his disposal at all times. Learn how to help him/her do thier job more effectively, and be able to think ahead to understand where you will be going next on your route.
