How would you describe what you did at caterpillar?

I helped set up user accounts, printers, and installed software for users at a small satellite site
I diagnosed OEM factory returns to find the root cause of the defect using 5 why methodology.
I administered all of the facility's controlled documents.

How did you find your job at caterpillar?

The job is challenging as well as rewarding. When you can see your efforts being bolted to a machine and being used at a customers sight it makes one feel pride.

Getting the recognition for a job well done.
Being able to see and touch what you have done.
Being able to mix with the assembly personnel on a daily basis and create an atmosphere of equality

What's the toughest problem you've had to solve at caterpillar?

intigrating non-metalic materials in the machines with the aggreance of upper management. The world of mining machines is heavy metal. Any change that would reduce the machine weight and increase the payload is good. Getting the customers to see this is the challenge

What are the most challenging aspects of your job at caterpillar?

Being able to balance the cost and reliability of a product. In order to achieve a low cost there must be a product that can be manufactured in the simpliest way possible with out comprimising quality

How would you describe what you did at caterpillar?

Design, model, and detail various areas of Large Mining machines. I have done hydraulics routings, structural and light fabrications design. Having a welding and manufacturing background I am also able to mentor new engineers on their design as to manufacturability.

I spent 8 years as a contractor to Cat. The secret in getting hired is either having a high degree or in my case proving that you are capable of doing the job as well as any other assignments correctly , in a timely manor, and cost effectively
