How would you describe what you did at smartdept.?

I designed a web site for the client; NWAA Inc, an archaeological business.

How did you find your job at smartdept.?

I gained contract work with a couple different clients; Becker and Mayer and the NWAA, Inc. The second client was an office of mostly women in a small old Ballard office. My supervisor was great and the small resident office dogs were an interesting distraction.

What's the funniest thing that ever happened to you at smartdept.?

We had just moved our entire office to its new Pioneer Square location and went out after-hours to celebrate at Cowgirls Inc. We all ended up riding the bull, and one of the owners, my coworker, and myself even danced on top of the bar! We had a fun time, and on the way home I twisted my ankle on the sidewalk and fractured my leg! It was a late night in the ER that evening. :-)... read more

How did you find your job at smartdept.?

I was "drafted" into the position! When I moved to Seattle, I had signed up with this creative staffing agency to be placed on contract jobs -- which never worked out, because I soon accepted another full-time position. A couple years later the owner contacted me because I was in their database with a lot of industry experience in graphic design & advertising. So, wanting to do something new I accepted a position as Business Development Manager to grow their Seattle office. (And at the time I left, almost 2-1/2 years later, we had more than quadrupled profits.)... read more
