Position Description:
Looking for a highly technical, people?friendly Senior IT Technician\Server Admin to join a team of IT professionals in our headquarters office. This role is responsible for maintaining Next Jump's burgeoning internal systems (user help desk, file servers, MS Exchange, office LAN, phone system, and much more). As a member of the internal systems IT team, you will be responsible for supporting over 100 users in a Vista/Office 2007 environment. The position also requires systems administration primarily in a Windows environment for the New York office, but also throughout the organization (other offices include London and Cambridge, MA). You will be expected to help create solutions in difficult situations. In this role, you will be a member of a team responsible for ensuring that users can always reach and use all of the services under the IT team's care. The ideal candidate for this position is someone with a thorough love of technology who is proud to be a jack?of?all?trades and is willing to roll up their sleeves and get the job done.
Responsibilities:
* Setup, configure and maintain Windows servers and Active Directory
* High level troubleshooting for Vista and Office 2007
* Troubleshoot and maintain in?house multi-call video conference
* Help install, maintain, and troubleshoot VMWare, email, and other platforms;
* Assist in researching new technologies to improve existing environments and be proactive in problem mitigation
* Ensure that all key data outlined in the Next Jump backup procedure is being committed to tape & stored in a secure location
* Respond to and fix employee computer/network problems. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems. Interact with engineers, business people, remote users and senior management
* After hours/weekend hours in support of production outages and in support of aggressive project deadlines is required
Requirements:
* BA/BS degree in information systems, engineering or equivalent technical field.
* 4?8 years progressive experience in IT
* Hands on experience with Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, MS Exchange, Windows Server2003
* Experience supporting Vista and Office 2007
* Experience with Dell servers, workstations, laptops and storage
* Experience with Symantec and Veritas
* Experience with Sonicwall VPN, VMware a plus
* Experience with MAC a plus
* Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
